ADHOC COMMITTEES
These committees are only temporary and will be disbanded once the task assigned to them is completed. Adhoc Committees are classified into two types: inquiry committees and advisory committees. Their contact information is as follows:
1. Inquiry Committees:
These are constituted from time to time, either by the two houses on a motion adopted on the behalf or by the Speaker/Chairman, to inquire into and report on specific subjects. e.g.
I) Railway convention committee.
II) Joint committee on security in Parliament complex.
III) Committee on members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
IV) Joint Committee to examine matters relating to allocation and Pricing of Telecom Licences and Spectrum.
V) Committee on Food Management in Parliament House complex.
2. Advisory Committees:
Select or combined committees on legislation are appointed to consider and report on certain bills. These committees differ from the other Adhoc Committees in that they deal with bills. They must follow the procedure as specified in the rules of procedure or as directed by the speaker/chairman.
