DRAWBACKS OF PRESIDENTIAL GOVERNMENT
The presidential form of government suffers from following drawbacks:
- In this system, there is a lot of disagreement between the legislative and the executive. This dispute might be extremely tough to resolve at times.
- Because the executive is not a member of the legislature and is not subject to legislative oversight, the executive is not accountable to the legislature for its actions and decisions.
- Many a times, this system has given the space to dictatorial and autocratic tendencies.
- Because the members are not directly chosen by the public, the executive has limited representation and does not have popular support.
