OATH OF PRESIDENT

An oath of office is an oath or affirmation taken by a person before taking on the duties of an office, typically in government or within a religious body, though similar oaths are sometimes required of executives of other organisations.

Such oaths are frequently needed by the rules of the State, religious body, or other institution before a person can truly perform the powers of the office or any religious entity. The President of India takes the following oath of office:

“I, [name], do swear in the name of God (or solemnly affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President (or discharge the functions of the President) of the Republic of India, and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and the law, and that I will devote myself to the service and well-being of the people of Republic of India.”

Because the President of India is the most dignified, respected, and renowned figure in the country, it is critical that he be sworn in with a very authentic and dignified protocol and style. The affirmation that a person takes when joining an office, surrendering himself to the country with all his disciplines and loyalties to serve the country fairly, is referred to as an oath, which is required in our Constitution to show that the person is submitting, sacrificing, and surrendering himself to the nation and his people.
