Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre is the main centre of Indian Space Research Organisation under the Department of Space, Government of India, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was formed on 21 November 1963 and was named so in honour of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, often regarded as the father of the Indian space program. H.G.S. Murthy was the first Director and Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair being the present Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
