In Nairobi, Kenya, James Ferguson Jim Skea of the United Kingdom was chosen to lead the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Skea won the race over Thelma Krug of Brazil, who was his closest competitor. Krug received 69 votes, while he received 90.
