Praveen Chithravel sets a new national record in the triple jump.

While placing fourth, Thirumaran Selva Prabhu also broke the junior (U20) record for India by jumping 16.58 metres. With a best leap of 15.03m, Asian Games triple jump champion Arpinder Singh placed sixth out of a field of ten competitors.
